Reverse engineering is a complex CAD technology, it was based on a mock-up of the product, using three coordinate measuring machine to rebuild the three-dimensional modeling of products in PC, and then complete the product design.
In the measurement of large and flexible products, which often has obvious deformation, the measurement of the resulting data cannot correctly reflect the geometry of the product. So eliminate the geometric distortion has great significance on the geometrical modeling.
A. Deformation processing principle
The products deformation can be reduced to a number of simple form of superposition of linear or nonlinear.
1. Tensile deformation: The length of the work-piece elongation or compression
2. Shear deformation: Two parts by shear relative movement along the direction of external force
3. Bending deflection: The center line of the bar change from straight line to a curve
4. Torsional deformation: A cross section of a bar around the axis of rotation
Although there are four basic forms of deformation, but there are many similarities in nature, using these characteristics can simplify the mathematical model.
B. The key technique in the deformation process
For those work-pieces with complex shape, the point data is relatively dense to make it hard to recognize work-piece feature. At the same time, because of the work-piece contour point is enough to express the work-piece body signs, so just need to deal with the deformation of the work-piece contour point output screen. After processing, according to the correct information of contour points, carry out the same process to the inner contour points which have not been output.
